About Marit Brock

My name is Marit Brock and I live in the Little Bohemia section of the West 7th neighborhood in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

The past few years have been a tremendous learning experience for me, as I moved from my “regular life” of career, family and the usual into a world of community action and involvement.  I have met extraordinary people doing extraordinary things to improve their communities, and have found so many people who LOVE Saint Paul.  I don’t mean a casual “I love chocolate cake” but a deep, committed relationship – they are in it for the long haul.

A neighbor said it best the other day, and although I am not quoting exactly I hope you will get the point.  The things that make a difference, that make your community home are not the things that the government or the politicians give you.  They are the things you build yourself from the seeds of conversations started in backyards, church basements and while walking the dog.  The actions you take that come from the heart and make the vision of our future come alive.

The world of community life is filled with genius, with passion and with possibilities.  The people doing this work are regular people who have learned how good it feels to step up and make a difference.  I hope to use this space to create a new vision for our community by building on the amazing things already happening. I hope you will share some of what is great about YOUR community too!
